“Where excellence is not a euphemism for profit”
Ear Clinic was funded as part of a charitable partnership in 2015 and opened its doors to the public in 2018, as medical centres withdrew their aural care earwax removal services. Working in partnership with Solent Health, Ear Clinic aims to add capacity for people to obtain appointments locally and improve the value of services available for local people.
Improved value for local people at Ear Clinic Lymington is defined as:
1. Investment in the highest standards of clinic environment with a new ventilation system
2. High standards of infection control with modern ENT specific equipment and hygienic surfaces throughout.
3. Low-profit service model with a single charge of £59. We do not make "per ear" charges.
4. We allow 30 minutes per consultation, to include air extraction and cleaning time after each patient.
6. Service recall reminders provided electronically via text and email at no charge.
Service Appointment Price
Removal of excessive earwax (adult) Per Consultation £59
Due to new strains of Coronavirus and the significant increased risk infection, all patients are now taken straight into clinic on arrival, bypassing reception and the waiting area. Payments must now be in advance at the time of booking. Full refunds are available if appointments are cancelled in the morning of the day preceding the appointment. Late cancellations will still be refunded if the appointment slot is booked by another patient.
Paediatric / Under 18s Please read below
Paediatric and young people under 18 years of age cannot attend Ear Clinic appointments for earwax/aural care. An appointment can be arranged to see an ENT Consultant privately.
Should a patient book and attend Ear Clinic to find they do not require treatment for excessive earwax, they will still be charged. To avoid this, patients who are not sure if they require earwax removal, should book an appointment with their hearing aid dispenser or a nurse in the first instance. You do not need to see a doctor to have your ears checked for excessive earwax.
Please click Attending Clinic - What Happens at the bottom of the page and select the Coronavirus link at the top of the page for a full list of how to prepare for your appointment.
Description
Removal of excessive earwax typically requires microsuction. The adult price of £59 is based on an appointment time of 30 minutes, whether one or both ears are treated. We allow plenty of time to provide a first-class service and outcome for patients, however, where the removal of excessive earwax is problematic, more than one appointment may be required.
Patients attending Ear Clinic for this appointment will be shown live images of their ear(s) and have the opportunity to discuss their treatment and view further images taken following treatment. This ensures all patients have the following outcomes:
Ear Clinic is committed to improving outcomes for patients by ensuring they understand that looking after their ears and, therefore maintaining a good standard of hearing, is essential.
Patients have the option to agree a routine appointment recall reminder. Recalls are provided by email and text without charge.
